Privacy Policy
Effective August 30, 2026
California Property Tools is a free, ad-supported California property tax calculator and guide. This policy explains what we collect, what we do not, the cookies and similar technologies we and our advertising partners use, and the choices you have.
What we ask you for
There is no account, no sign-up, no newsletter, and no form on this site. The only way to send us anything is to email the address on our mail [at] californiapropertytools.com — then we have whatever you chose to put in the message, we use it to answer you, and we do not add you to anything.
Your calculator inputs stay in your browser
The calculator runs entirely on your device. Your purchase price, purchase year, and any assessed value you enter are used only in your browser to compute the estimate. These financial inputs are never transmitted to us, stored on a server, or shared with analytics or advertising partners.
Server logs
Serving a page means receiving a request. Our hosting provider processes and may log standard request data — including IP address, user agent, and the page requested — to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not build profiles from server logs.
Cookies and similar technologies
We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising. With your consent these may store or read information on your device (such as a random identifier, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device or browser type). You control this through the consent banner and can change your choice anytime via .
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic and how the calculator is used (for example, page views and events such as starting or completing a calculation, or selecting a county). Google processes this data as our analytics provider. We do not send Google your financial inputs. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to opt out across sites.
Advertising (Google AdSense and partners)
This site displays ads served by Google AdSense and its partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can personalize or opt out of personalized Google ads in Google Ad Settings. These industry controls run across sites, not just here:
- Google Ad Settings — Google's personalized advertising
- YourAdChoices (DAA) — participating US advertising companies
- Network Advertising Initiative — participating NAI members
- Your Online Choices (EDAA) — participating companies in Europe
Your choices and consent
On your first visit you can Accept or Reject analytics and advertising cookies. Until you accept, non-essential cookies are set to “denied” using Google Consent Mode. You can revisit your choice at any time through .
California privacy rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), California residents have rights regarding their personal information, including the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise this, use and choose Reject, which disables advertising and analytics storage for your device. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because we hold no accounts and no customer database, in most cases the only information we hold about you is an email you have chosen to send us; advertising identifiers are held by the advertising partners, and the opt-out controls above are the route to those.
Children
This site is about California property tax, a subject for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We update this page when our practices change and revise the effective date above when we do.
